Planning a trip to the beautiful Hunter Valley? Whether you’re joining us for a private wine tour, a group experience, or a relaxed day with one of our local drivers, you probably have a few questions. After years of touring with guests from all walks of life, we’ve put together a list of the most common questions we get asked — and the answers we love to share.
1.
How many wineries do we visit in a day?
We generally visit 3 to 4 wineries, depending on the pace of the day and what kind of experience you’re after. Some groups love to settle in and soak up the atmosphere at each stop, while others want to try as many drops as they can. We tailor each itinerary to match your vibe.
2.
Is lunch included in the tour?
Yes — when you book our Custom Tour, a gourmet lunch at 4 Pines at the Farm Brewery is included as part of the experience. It’s a fantastic venue with delicious food, a relaxed setting, and something for everyone. If you have dietary needs or preferences, just let us know when you book and we’ll make sure you’re looked after.
For Driver-Only Tours, lunch is not included, and guests build their own lunch stop into the itinerary. You’re free to choose your preferred venue, and we’re happy to suggest some great options — just let us know what you’re looking for.
3.
Can we choose the wineries we visit?
Absolutely. For our Custom Private Tours, we work with you to plan the day. If you have favourites or want to try a mix of big names and boutique gems, we’ll build the perfect itinerary. For group tours, we choose tried-and-tested spots based on quality, atmosphere, and what we know our guests love.
4.
Do we need to pay tasting fees?
That depends on the tour option you book — here’s how it works:
Custom Tour: Tasting fees are included in your tour price. We book the wineries for you and take care of everything behind the scenes so your day runs smoothly.
Driver-Only Tour: This option is designed for groups who prefer more control. You’ll be provided with a friendly driver, a loop itinerary, and an onboard fridge. You’re responsible for booking and paying for your own tastings directly with the venues. We’re happy to suggest stops, but you handle the tasting fees and scheduling.
This distinction helps guests choose the best option to suit their needs, whether it’s a fully curated day or a more flexible transport-focused experience.
5.
Can we buy wine along the way?
Yes — and we highly recommend it! The Hunter Valley is full of wines you won’t find anywhere else. We have a fridge onboard to keep your purchases cool, and you’re welcome to store them safely with us during the day.
6.
Is there music on the bus? Can we bring our own playlist?
Of course. We have a Bluetooth sound system onboard, and many groups like to bring their own playlists to keep the vibe going between tastings. From chill acoustic to singalongs — it’s your day, your soundtrack.
7.
How long does the tour run for?
Our tours usually run from around 10am to 4:30pm, give or take depending on pickup location and how long we spend at each winery. We’ll confirm all the details with you before the day so you know what to expect.
8.
Do you offer transport from our accommodation?
Yes. Door-to-door pickup and drop-off is included.
9.
What’s the vibe on tour — relaxed or more structured?
It’s your day. We run our tours in a relaxed, friendly way, but everything is organised behind the scenes so you don’t have to stress. Whether you’re celebrating, reconnecting with friends, or just soaking up the Hunter, you’ll feel taken care of.
